Councils are increasingly being told to communicate with the people who receive – and pay for – the services they provide.
It’s a fine ambition, but turning dry and technical council reports into interesting and relevant material that makes sense to the average person takes a particular skill.
At Go4 we have used that skill to help some of the most successful councils in the country communicate with local residents and other audiences, including the Audit Commission, businesses and government departments.
We work with leading authorities including the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Kent and Essex County Councils and Medway Council to turn complex documents and ‘local government speak’ into readable copy.
We write, design and print residents’ newspapers, annual reports, award submissions and promotional material as well as tenants’ newspapers, advertising campaigns, document summaries and a huge range of marketing material.
We also work with housing associations and other public bodies such as Sure Start organisations, again with just one ambition – to produce clear, informative and helpful messages aimed at a particular audience.
It’s something we do well, which is probably why our biggest clients are all ‘word-of-mouth’ referrals and why we are still working for them many years later…
